I thought i needed to comment.so our fl is literally THE most strong and perfect fl I’ve ever come across.the story starts with her struggle, shows her growth and then show’s her immense strength. She’s not only smart, she’s brave and kind and fucking strong. But she didn’t magically get those or was born with it. No she worked hard for it and got to this point. And the stpry does start off by her getting forced but when you continue reading you’ll understand why it happened and you will not regret reading this story. In most of the manwhas i read, no matter how strong the fl were they always needed some saving by the ml but here lol it’s the fl always saving the ml. The romance is good, humor is good, the feels are top notch and everything about this manwha is just perfect 10/10. I’ve read hundreds of mangas/manhuas, this is definitely in my top list. Well-written story and characters. ALSO, for those who have read it and can’t accept it has ended, IT HASNT. THERE IS A SEQUEL, search for “Golden Time,” their son is all grown-up (and probably more good looking than his dad) and is creating his own destiny.

He just think “oh she’s not a virgin and I can do whatever with her”, so he rapes her. Then when he reflects on it (I know, I should have just stopped reading), he goes “oh, she actually wasn’t a virgin. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so forceful”.
The worse part is the female, the day after she was raped, starts having thoughts of him like how muscular he is or something like that. She doesn’t even react to the rape like a normal human, you know, with trauma. The author just brushes it off like it’s no big deal and somehow ML can redeem himself from rape… Like no!
The FL is set up to be this strong girl with a sense of justice but she doesn’t seek justice (not even a thought) against the ML who just raped her. I was a little wary getting into this manhua, especially after reading the rape comments, but it gets really good afterwards. I really loved the ending as well. I really suggest that you read it. The romance and story are paced well.
The FL is strong, sensible, and very well written. The ML is also well written, and over time you forget his barbaric behaviour at the start (Which I’m guessing the author put in to emphasise how medieval and 0 rights women had which is why the FL had toPretend to be a man. )
Poor choice of plot device but honestly I’d take this any day over the countless poorly paced, nonsensical stories where the FL has 0 brains but the ML loved them instantly anyway cause “plot”. Certainly heaps better than “Lucia” where all they do is bang everyday consensually and characters don’t act like they’re described

I think that this is a really good mahwa! I might be a little biased since it was the first one I had ever read and completed all the way through though! I actually loved the story line the whole way through and it would always keep me on my toes. (although I kind of always knew they would live happily ever after haha) *trigger warning for next sentence* If you can get over the rape in like the third chapter then your clean. *enddddddd trigger warning* I kind of wanted a little more of plot tbh and his development of love for Edna was kind of a little sudden to me. Also, the art was very pretty and I liked how it was clear and concise. But- I really love Enda’s character the whole way through. Hayden’s character, although he developed a little bit, I would have loved for little more.. 🙁 I absolutely love this manhwa though, I am a sucker for any romance manhwa so please give me some recommendations!! I’m really not sure why this series is so popular, aside from it being a completed fantasy romance. As others have said, the story starts out with the ML r*ping the FL. Folks in the comments have defended him saying it was due to a misunderstanding but the “misunderstanding” was his assumption that she wasn’t a virgin and therefore it was ok to force himself on her.
The FL character arc feels like a cardboard cut out- she has no substance. She supposedly is very intelligent and helps the poor but when she discovers slaves she blames them for being slaves, acting as though it’s partly their responsibility that they’ve been abused. She “frees” them by having them work for her instead. The ML is pretty much the same. It’s kind of written like two rich people who it turns out are both secretly a Prince and a Princess who go around pitying the poor and patting themselves on the back for doing so.
There are so many better stories along the same vein that are better executed.

Wow i feel really bad now, I saw a lot coments saying that it was rape and I totally get that and I’m also a woman and in no way would I want something like that happened to me or any woman at all, however in a more critically analyzed way, I saw it as a contract perse. Clearly, he was insinuatig of doing the deed with her however, she layed down her terms. She asked that if she was a virgin, he would have to accept her as the wife and a bed companion and well they did the deed and based on this chapter, he agreed with the terms she layed out.
I know some of you would reect what I said and it’s alright, you have your own opinion and I have mine, I respect that. But for me, she layed out her terms, he accepted, do the deed then boom. A contract. or something that is not much different that a contract. Besides, by their conversation, she was planning to actually complete the wedding night the day after, but well the ML was kind of an arse and decided to test her the day before the wedding.
That is what I have observerd cognitially. However, it would turn a drastic change if you think about it eotionally. It would turn as if she had to make that choice and lay down her terms in order to survive. Which is a fair argument.
My take? They are both accountable for what happened. Do not despise the ML greatly but as I have said he is also not faultless. Get it?

I really shouldn’t voice my opinion since I dropped the series half way but here are my views on it.
First of all I can’t really support the Male Lead too much. Just a couple episodes in he raped the female lead which doesn’t really do him justice in my book and that’s why I can’t really sympathize and support their relationship too much. But the main reason I dropped it was because I simply didn’t find the motivation to continue, there wasn’t anything that I was looking forward too and I saw many good reviews and it just didn’t get to my expectations. Overall the art was amazing, and if you are going to read it I would recommend patient with the series unlike me.

If you paid attention it was in one of the previous chapters in Cayden’s memories.
