Why the hell the story goes in this direction. It says the dude’s daughter died from the disease so she’s not his real daughter she’s just an replacement being that she look identical to his real daughter. Secondly, the woman who stated that she’s an illegitimate child was probably wrong because for he to be “illegitimate” she’d have to be the born out of wedlock between the Duke and her mother which is not the case because they’re not blood related in anyway. Thirdly, since it’s the first chapter, I guess they didn’t want to get into detail as yet but I’m sure the will later down in the story.
