Sorry. I need to let out this frustration:
1) The mother pulled the plug. I don’t know what kind of common sense it takes to for one to pull the plug when the machine obviously messes with the nerves. I mean unless the company provides explicit proof, most normal human beings would first doubt it right? Right? That aside. Even if it was safe I HATE IT when somebody snoops in on my business and does things without my permission. Granted, this guy cannot give permission and she was just a worried mother, but I STILL DON’T LIKE IT. It’s an annoying behavior, okay?
2) I don’t like how the game seems to be pushing things on the mc. It’s supposed to be a game that players could enjoy, but it’s like the AI is leading things. It’s like being purposely isekai’d and told that you have to be a hero and beat the demon king. Being given a responsibility and pressuring you because they feel entitled that you give that service even when you don’t have a say about anything. So frustrating.
But since I love long-ranged characters I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. I’m just saying I’m frustrated okay? But I’ll keep reading.

even if there were something like that, there would be FAR better ways to balance it. Goodness, they could even be truly realistic and give each gun its own strengths and weaknesses while giving brand new players a handicap of sorts so they can function properly

honestly I’m kinda confused by how they’re doing it. They talk about hyper-realism, but weapons and attacks still have damage markers on them. Is that just a numerical rating of how potent the weapon is? I wouldn’t think so, since it isn’t on a recognizable scale, and I doubt that the starting weapons would have a number that high if it was scaled. I just don’t know how to judge the balance of this system

Well if we refer to history, the musket DID change the battle landscape. Let’s not even take cannons into consideration. Even though ancient guns took forever to reload, it trumped against swords and arrows because one good shot was fatal enough it could dent armors.
Although to be honest it’s more like the introduction of this new weapon brought about curiosity and fear which became a factor that largely affected the morale of soldiers on either side. The gun-weilding ones were positively affected while the enemies suffered anxiety because up until now, the norm was that long ranged weapons could only nick them here and there and don’t really have great damage, then the guns came along, a long-ranged weapon that can deal great damage and can be far more accurate than the bow and arrow. Swords can be blocked with smaller metal shield and large wooden shields are enough to stop arrows, but that is not the case for bullets. Bullets pierce through thin metal shields and normal soldiers do not have enough stamina to be always carrying large thick metal shields. Arrows also take longer to land on targets while guns, even back then, only take a split second to land on target. The fear of getting hit accurately just once and the fact that it’s difficult to anticipate and block the trajectory of such a small fast incoming projectile paralyzes the enemy even though the loading time takes long. Not to mention the fact that gun wielders would have been obviously trained to use guns effectively.
So yeah, to us modern humans it might seem like it’s not balanced especially since we have advanced and made better guns but if people from back then were asked, they would have said it was balanced.

no I get that, I think the early days of firearms are pretty remarkable. I’m talking about the devs of this game. I get that it’s realistic, but they should have given at least a handicap or some other skills with it that would make it more viable, or allowed it to evolve as they level, or something like that.

It’s so tricky to master but it gives dynamics to an illustration.

don’t get me wrong, this looks really interesting BUT I’M SO ANNOYED
1) 90% sure a crate of ammunition would not explode like that from being dropped. Regardless, I highly doubt the guy would just throw him the crate
2) that paper about disability coverage was bs, no way he wouldn’t qualify for disability OR social security, especially if the military was under fire for having problems like this often
