Calabria and Floyd are 2 out of the 5 duchy’s in the Empire, ML’s mother is from the Floyd duchy and his father is from the Calabria Duchy, hence his name Leon Floyd Calabria. ML has a very powerful lineage since he has blood from two Duke families which is very rare. And the emperor in this chapter just revealed that he planned all this from the very start by making a secret deal with the duchy’s head years ago to hand over the sole heir born from the marriage between the two duchy’s, and by hand over I think he meant for the ML to marry his daughter the princess. Hence the emperor will be able to steal the power of the two duchy’s by making him his pawn and use him to keep all the other duchy’s in check as well while maintaining his own power.
And remember the mark the Bianca girl who is being blackmailed by the princess has on her arm? ML has a similar mark engraved on his tongue when he was a child by the emperor which would turn him into a puppet upon activation.

Because the dukedoms have more power than the Royal family, the King made the ML’s father(from Calabria Duchy) and ML’s mother (from Floyd duchy) marry each other. His original plan was to adopt the child born from them since that way, the King would have control over the 2 dukedoms. However, since the princess was born, the plan to adopt is no longer feasible so the King is now trying to have the ML and the shitty princess marry each other.
Basically, princess wants to marry ML because she’s in love/obssesed with him and the King only want ML and princess to marry because he wants control over the Calabria and Floyd duchies.

A Baroness is NOT a Countess. They are two entirely different noble titles and a Baroness is far below a Countess (by ranking order from highest to lowest it would be Duchess, Marchioness, Countess, Viscountess, and THEN Baroness). So the fact that she is called both a Baroness AND Countess in the same chapter throws me off! I mean, if she marries the ML then yeah, she’d become a Countess and then later Duchess (when his dad dies), but she’s currently not a Countess so it kind of irritated me… I’ve read too many regency and victorian romance novels so the knowledge of noble peerage comes from that lol. Though… I did my family tree and have two Baron’s in my direct family line that I decend from on my mothers side of the family (haven’t done the one on my fathers side so who knows what that side of the family tree has)

Excuse me? I never said anything about it being easier to blame on the ML, however you cannot refute the fact that everything has gone wrong the minute she met up with him. And I’m not just talking about romanticising the 2ML, the ML is also being romanticised for what? For the self sacrifice which was the last thing the FL wanted? And those are: the minute the FL associated with Rian, all of her opinions have been ignored ((regarding their ‘relationship’, if you could even call it that anyways) since from a person who has taken care and has actually ANALYSED this and the characters and the dialogues and NOT generalised it and as you gracefully put it, the FL clearly doesn’t like the guy YET because she has literally SAID that he is merely a TEMPTATION and that she wants to AVOID interacting with men (for her it isn’t as deep as the ML YET, and that’s because the ML has liked her for 3 years). First about the pinky, why are you making her actions sound like they’re the ML’s fault? How is ML supposed to know that Pinky is a crazy princess? ? Even if the ML wasn’t the reason, she reacts badly to everything when things don’t go her way. Also I never said that Bianca is an antagonist, I only meant that she is directly involved in the FL’s poisoning.
Why is it that you need to find someone to blame for every single thing that goes wrong, cause in every situation a lot of things wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the starting actions of one person. All ML actually did was foolishly fall in love and be stubborn about it due the way his character is as described at the start.
He doesn’t know what’s happening in the rest of the story like we readers do.
Also I assumed you were only talking about 2nd ML’s sexy abs cause he’s been the only one we saw this chapter but It’s still understandable why other readers don’t mind the main ML’s personality. I didn’t pay that close attention to him and neither do I find him interesting due to how cliche he is. Also I agree it’s not logical for them to continue their relationship but as i said again we won’t have a story then and yes it should’ve been better written in order to not cause these frustrations.

First of all, I wasn’t really looking for someone to blame. My standpoint from the ML being the root of everything was mostly because I saw him as a chain reaction/how meeting him caused a domino effect within the manhwa. Although yes Pinky was an awful person from the start, she would have little to no contact with Eleanor if it wasn’t for the ML, yes the ML doesn’t control her actions, however they heavily influence them. Like for example, her with the noble ladies playing truth or dare. Then as for the best friend, when I reread I now see where you’re coming from. Truth be told my irritation was already high from the Blonde, Pinky, 2ML and Rian’s father, and thus I got irritated the minute he made dozen assumptions about what kind of a woman the FL was after her getting poisoned e.g. “yes she’s pretty but if you’re looking for that kind of woman…” But I see that if anyone were at the party they’d see it from that viewpoint too (I just thought that as a viscount and a person who holds a military position he’d be a better judge at character). And you’re right there IS a lot of dramatic irony here, perhaps that’s why it’s so frustrating to read but I understand that some people like that, and I usually like it too if it’s executed well.
And as for manhwa recommendations here are some of my personal favourites with a decent number of chapters, however they are quite popular so I’ve no doubt you’ve read them all unless you’re new to manhwas:
Untouchable Lady: revenge reincarnation manhwa, some romance, strong FL, tired X tired pairing, special powers. PRETTY art.
Solo Leveling: game type/powers, not so much romance in this one as MC is too focused on becoming the king of death, but he does have a love interest. OP MC. My second favourite genre is fantasy and fantasy and romance in one thing is just MWAH. COOL ART.
The villainess reverses the hourglass: the og. The one that got me into romance manhwas. Main Couple is a power couple, strong FL, hints of powers. Romance is good and they’re both soft for one another. Good art.
A stepmother’s marchen: I’m looking forward for the second season where they all grow up. Romance, reincarnation, very good plot, annoying kids, good character development, IMMACULATE art.
The princess imprints the traitor: romance. Annoying ass sister, good plot, slowburn romance. Reincarnation and strong FL X strong ML. This one is quite new but there is a decent number of chapters.
I’ll become the matriarch in this life: my current favourite ‘isekai’ manhwa. The art is beautiful, ML and FL are cuties, strong and clever FL, they haven’t grown up yet though, soft and for once an actual nice father figure! Lombardy is a powerhouse, and every chapter is just satisfying to read imo.

My observational diary of Elena Evoy: this one is a cute feel good one, high school setting. The ML is very cute and quite similar to Rian, although he is a bit more considerate and less naive about his social standing/the consequences of it. Smart and quiet FL.
Finding Camellia: this one is new, gender bender I think? FL disguises as a boy, you know how it is. The art is nice and I’m reading it purely because of the chemistry I witnessed right off the bat. Smart but weak FL, hoping for some character development. I’d recommend waiting a bit more because there are very few chapters out atm (unless you wanna read the novel)
Who made me a princess: a famous one. isekai. Claude is a fine man, but I’m looking at Athy who is very cute. I don’t see much plot a part from “my dad is a psychopath I have to survive”??? Hoping there’s more though. Although that probably is my critical analysis again. Character development. Feel good manhwa. Art is cute.
OH AND the way to protect the female lead’s brother: I recently read this and I love the art. Toxic/evil family, isekai, strong FL. It is very sadistic and there is quite a lot of graphic images and I must admit I put off reading this one because of that but I eventually got over it and it was good. I love that shes a schemer but people like the original fl who use manipulation to get what they want will never go well i guarantee 100% the original will cause issues and be a b*tch i swear on my life because manipulators who are too in love with someone are willing to do anything to get the person they love, not kill people but ruin others reputation etc. you get the point so shes probably going to have a severe case of jealousy fever and a very severe case of being a b*tch
