It should end here. Erease the last 2 panels or so, do a kiss scene instead, make the demon lord disappear by… means of the necklace or something and bang- nice story about a girl finding her origin and a happy family reunion.
So to say: I’ll drop it now so it won’t end up a rotten story in my mind, but a happy one.
