So Damien is basically his nephew but Damien himself didn’t know and thought ML is his father. in her dream life she also ended up with Hugo, and he actually spared her when he killed her husband’s household and even helped her with money because he was intrigued by her strong will to live and when she was old and he lost everything he searched for her and fell in love in that life as well, but she doesn’t remember the late part of her life until she’s in her happily ever after

Like one of my favorites right now is The Great Wish because of how it is different from the stuff I normally read where the protag either read a story she gets reincarnated into or is reliving her own life, but instead she is having the occasional dreams where she is experiencing snippets of her own life from her perspective as Empress like 20 years in the future, all in 1st person view so that is different from the usual 3rd person view point in those kinda things, and realizes that in the future she is full of regrets and so with the few details she is able to glean from conversations her future self has with people she tries to figure out just what went wrong and how to NOT turn into that regret-filled Empress of Christmas Future.

I have yet to read the novel {though probably will after rereading this as the manhua seems to be on a permanent hiatus} but if I had to guess Vivian has either lived twice {as so many MC’s do in isekai’s} or she is/was prophetic {can see the future} and what she saw in that ‘dream’ was another life/alternate universe and it was one where she was sold off to an abusive waste of human filth after the emperor prior {her ‘father’} died where she survived for 5 years before getting freed {probably due to her infertility} and then she spent the rest of her life living the way she wanted but now either having come back or just waking up from her prophecies she’s decided to live her life the way she wants as best she can by changing her fate and yeah basically the story we’re seeing now.
