this is another one I almost consider to be good, but there’s some key things that it falls flat on. The art is fantastic, the fixed translations are solid, and some aspects of the story are really good and interesting. However, other than a few characters clearly designed to be severely hated, I find virtually everything about the story absolutely emotionally uncompelling. I read everything they have translated so far and the entire time I felt completely uninvested in the story, characters, everything but seeing a few of those hateable characters get their just desserts. There’s also several rather irritating inconsistencies.
I also still feel weird about manhwa where the step-brother is the ML, no matter how many dozens of times they emphasize that “there’s not a drop of blood shared between them”

this is one of those stories that I almost think is well written, but it’s poorly written in some pretty key ways. There’s the MASSIVE oversight with the inconsistency of who tf the baron is that was brought up in this chapter, there’s the lack of logic behind the premise of the supposed bad blood between the MC and ML (it isn’t super bad, but it’s the whole “will he/won’t he kill her” thing isn’t well supported), and there’s absolutely no emotional investment in any part of the story except hating the baron. We didn’t get time or anything to give any emotional substance to anything. There’s no reason for us to care that she died in her past life, or about her or him as people, or that he was bullied, or that their family died, or anything. I’m gonna keep going and give this a chance, but if it keeps going like this I sure as heck won’t be bookmarking.
