I really don’t understand why they have to lie to each other. This is a job she’s done since she was in high school and it’s going to be horribly hard to lie to her husband for the rest of her life because even if she does manage to air quote kill her enemy she’ll still have to collect mana. But I really don’t understand what the dark Prince is thinking at all. It seems like he is literally putting up a second personality for her because he doesn’t display his hatred of humans while he’s with her but when he’s in his true form he is hating on humans constantly.
