I don’t think it was a simple betrayal. She obviously still loved Lucas, she might even have known that Lucas wasn’t dead but trapped (she said 4000 years and Lucas comes back 4000 years later. Coincidence ? I don’t think so. What if she knew a way to bring back Lucas but that way would need 4000 years of preparations or something like that ?). I think she knew things that the others didn’t, things that made her think that what she did was the best option to definitly get rid of the demigods (a little like Doctor Strange giving the stone to Thanos because he knew it was necessary for the one timeline where he saw the Avengers win). We can think that the way to bring back Lucas needed her to side with the demigods for some reasons, so she had to choose between Lucas and the others, and since they obviously need Lucas to defeat the demigods entirely, she had to make the choice to sacrifice her comrades for the greater good. At least I hope it’s like that. And I’m not saying that because she’s hot. Or maybe a little… 😀

Ok I’m just back after reading the novel and the story is very well written and i really enjoy it more than the manhwa version… And mainly because in the novel Isabel isn’t important (just appear in one or two chapter) and this explained how her character isn’t really useful and seems too much of force to fit in the story in this manhwa as her character is intended to build or emphasize something that isn’t necessary needed.
And yeah this is my opinion only, and I’m just saying this because I really didn’t understand why her character is needed in the manhwa after catching up all the chapter this manhwa has (72 chapter), and she is only a hidrance lol.
…and if someone who accidentally seen my comment and made an effort to read all of this rambling i write, and didn’t share the same opinion, and want to curse me or smtg, pls save it because I’ll stick to the novel as i really enjoy the novel.

LoL, NOPE?~ Both the world, and the characters are too simplisitic and bland. The side characters exists for two purposes- either make the main character look good by making themselves look like assholes/weaklings OR…. tadaaa…harem members!???♀️ I think with a little more development they could have been way better, enjoyable and memorable people.
What does this story actually intend to do? Go down the traditional Chinese novel way of showing off the munchkinMC who cruises through everything and face off against the final boss with his cheat skills?? Oh, blink~he’s 5th circle, blink~ 6th ⭕, blink agai~ nani?? he’s already a seventh circle mage??! WTF! What cruise? this is a f**king ?! The story feels like it’s playing in 4x⏩ on top of all the plot armour and deus ex machina, and it is a bit unsettling. There’s just no time to enjoy the story. And the villain (the inspiration for which, I think is drawn from our modern capitalistic and materialistic society’s nature), is just not powerful or impactful enough to create much tension. By the looks of it, the biggest reveal would probably be something predictable along the lines of- after 9th ⭕ mages can breakthrough to become demigods and the demigod villains don’t appreciate the competition from puny mortals… So basically it’s no fun, not interesting and sure as hell not worth more than 3⭐s. All you will get from this novel probably is a fleeting feeling of satisfaction that will disappear once you realise it was just another mainstream waste of time…
Still, you can give it a shot since tastes and opinions differ, just don’t expect too much so that the disappointment won’t be huge(like mine ಥ‿ಥ ). But tbh I do not recommend this…?
